Yoga is something Mary-Ella discovered in her early 40's, a couple of years after the birth of her son, giving her a sense of joy in the movements, building strength and flexibility as well as a strong feeling of identity.
Her secondary school teaching background, spanning more than twenty-five years, gives her the ideal foundation to combine her own interest in yoga with a desire to help others learn.
She trained with Tara Fraser in Tiverton, Devon to qualify in 2019 as a
British Wheel of Yoga accredited teacher (Level 4, 300 hours).
Having qualified as a TeenYoga Teacher, she encourages teenagers to attend her regular adult classes. She has had dedicated teenagers who have come along to classes for as long as four years.
In 2021 she completed her British Wheel of Yoga/Yoga Alliance accredited Menopause Yoga Teacher Training (run by Petra Coveney)
and is very excited to soon be delivering her first
MENOPAUSE YOGA WORKSHOP
See her dedicated page for more detail on this.
She has successfully introduced yoga, at both an individual and group level, to students at Looe Academy in Cornwall, the secondary school where she teaches. Recently, a set of yoga sessions designed to cope with exam stress was delivered to Year 11 students as part of their 'Revision & Well Being Package'.
Her mixed ability Hatha Yoga classes are always friendly and fun with classes suitable for beginners and nobody taking themselves too seriously.
Come along to a class and discover how yoga can help you.
